We've finally gotten an updated set of Grey Star books ready and out the door. All four have been updated including the addition of the original illustrations for Beyond the Nightmare Gate:

Lone Wolf Originals Published

We've just published Lone Wolf Originals, a collection of Joe Dever's original drawings of maps (inlcuding the never published color map from The Hunger of Sejanoz) and other tidbits such as a 1984 promotional poster for Flight from the Dark and cover illustrations by Brian Williams, Melvyn Grant, and Peter Andrew Jones. This document also contains some of Joe Dever's notes for The Cauldron of Fear providing a rare insight into his process of creating and publishing these gamebooks.

Fan Replacement Art Published

We've just published a collection of the fan-created art that has graced our Project Aon editions at times when we didn't yet have permission from the illustrators to use their work. We didn't want this great work to go to waste, so it's here in one place. Some material was never published to the public.

Action Chart Pack Published

We've published our Action Chart Packs, a collection of the original artwork action charts and patents of order and rank (the scrolls in the front of the books that say "The bearer of this scroll . . ."). This collection draws from all book series: Kai, Magnakai, Grandmaster, New Order, Grey Star, and Freeway Warrior.

The Skull of Agarash Published

We have another rare tome for you this week. You may have never even heard of this book. The Skull of Agarash is a graphic novel written by Joe Dever and illustrated by Cyril Julien and Brian Williams. An unexpected Giak attack on the city of Kadan shatters the uneasy peace that reigned following the destruction of Naar's fell servants, the Darklords.

Lone Wolf Poster Painting Book Published

The Magnamund Companion Published

Greetings,

Have I got a treat for you, especially for those who have never read The Magnamund Companion. This compendium of Magnamund lore has been waiting for us to do something with it for a very long time. Finally, some of us decided to get this project rolling and did it in grand style. (I can say this because I had very little to do with this success.) We've published it as a PDF file in all of its splendor. And do yourself a favor: don't miss the appendices.

Update on Joe's Health

We're very happy to report that Joe Dever's first surgery has been successful and that he has already been discharged from the hospital. If you're asking yourself "What surgery?", you really should be paying closer attention to the Kai Grand Sentinel.

This series of books has been a lot of work for our volunteers, and on a personal note, I'm very proud to be associated with this group of talented, dedicated people from across the globe. We are pleased to announce the publication The Legacy of Vashna, the sixteenth book in the Lone Wolf series. It is now available on the Project Aon website.

The Legacy of Vashna pits you against the followers of a long-dead evil. Only you can prevent the Acolytes of Vashna from raising their fallen leader from the fathomless depths of the Maakengorge.

We are also nearing completion on War of the Wizards, the last book of Grey Star's adventures. Expect it's publication relatively quickly.

The Legacy of Vashna Delayed / Atom Feed

I thought that I was giving a conservative estimate for the publication date for The Legacy of Vashna in the Kai Grand Sentinel (our newsletter). In hindsight it wasn't conservative enough. It looks like it won't be available for another week or so. Sorry to disappoint anyone who put that date on their calendar.

As a reconciliation gift, I've been dabbling with an Atom feed as an alternative to this mailing list. The URL is:

For anyone who doesn't know about syndication, RSS, Atom, and other related terms, this amounts to a new way to get news and updated information from web sites. For a list of recommended software:

My preferred method is Bloglines, a web-based reader. To be honest, I use site feeds every day, but can't see what all the fuss is about. It just seems like a too-fancy, bandwidth intensive version of a good ol' mailing list. But don't let my Luddism stop you from using the feed. To each his own.
